July 2nd Storm

Pretty gnarly storm rolled through today, snapped some shots just before getting pounded by hail.

All-Nighter Study Break

I guess pulling all nighters to write papers about restructuring a medical supply company's corporate structure and strategies has its benefits. I decided to take a study break and document something most people miss every morning. Duluth, Minnesota's sunrise over beautiful lake Superior. Enjoy. I am going to go grab another Red Bull!

Jay and Colin's First Boat Set-2011

I finally got to take my first boat set last Friday on Long Lake with Colin Ryan and Jay Fogelson. I have to say that the filming in not up to par because I was not prepared to film but then decided to at the last second. My lens was dirty and the sun was right above head but hopefully that won't distract you too much. We had a lot of fun scratching off the dust and are all looking forward to this season, especially behind Colin's new 230! Oh yeah, sorry to all the ladies out there that wanted to see me ride, Colin filmed me but it is on his camera and I did not get the footage. Maybe next time.

Texas

I got call from Ryan Taylor about two weeks ago asking if I wanted to assist on a photo shoot he was bidding out. I was like "sure, I need money and would love the experience". I asked him what the job was and when it would be and his words were "I cant tell you anything". A week passed by with no word from Ryan and then I get an email saying that we had gotten the job and that it was in Texas and that we were flying out in two days. I was very excited to read this and knew I had to move some stuff around in my busy schedule. We flew out Friday morning at 7 headed toward Dallas to meet our connecting flight in San Antonio, where we immediately proceeded to the Texas Ski Ranch to shred our faces off. The next two days were filled with photography work and I will just say at one point I was carrying a .308 rifle, muzzle loader, cross bow and bow and arrow, along with photo equipment. Only in Texas right? Monday morning we were lucky enough to get one more unplanned cable session in before we had to fly out. The weather was a beautiful 80-100 degrees and everyone at the cable was super nice and stoked on riding. Over all it was a good trip, and I think I did a really good job assisting. Hopefully there will be more jobs like this in my future! I apologize for the shortage on the photos, I didn't have much free time to snap off photos especially when we were riding. This is what I was able to shoot, enjoy!

Just Livid!

This is what we are dealing with! It kind of makes me really upset, enough to BLOG about it. Straight from Damage itself...check this out

With another rad snowboard season in the books many of us look to move on to warmer activities to fill that void often left when the snow has faded away.  However there is always that itch to find the little bit of snow that may still be left under the shade of some standing pine, or in our case from the giant pile of snow left to rot at Spirit Mountain.  Well it is with the utmost pain and anguish that we have to inform you that Damage Revisited,  the Midwest’s biggest after season snowboard event, has been abolished for the second year in a row.  No not due to the lack of snow such was the case last year.  Not because we feel that it would not be up to par in one way or another.  The reasoning for this year’s revocation was something a little more disheartening as described in this quote directly from the management at Spirit Mountain “we can no longer host this event due to the toll this winter has taken on our grooming equipment and the additional wear and tear of preparing for a spring event like this.”  No this is not something that we foresaw as being an issue and had every intention to make this years Revisited one to top all previous Revisited events.  So the only thing to do in this inadequate situation that has been brought upon us, is to look for the cloud’s silver lining.  Although it may be hard to see in such a dreary situation it is most definitely there.  Since this event always marks the birthday for Damage Boarshop rest assured there will still be one heck of a party.  We still have to iron out the kinks and dial in some rock solid information regarding the festivities so you will want to stay tuned.

Sincerly Yours, Damage Inc.
